Top Gun: Over 30 years of naval aviation gaming, where maverick pilots engage in aerial dogfights inspired by the iconic film franchise from NES carrier landings to modern flight combat, igniting need-for-speed thrills, aviation excitement, and movie tie-in nostalgia.
Top Gun: Hard Lock was released in March 2012 for Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and PlayStation 3, by 505 Games and Paramount Interactive. The player takes the role of a pilot named Lance "Spider" Webb, who graduated from Top Gun under the auspices of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell. As Spider, the player engages in missions during a blockade of a new terrorist regime (a former US ally who had a coup) in the Persian Gulf. The player flies missions from USS McKinley in the Gulf, which involve shooting down hostile planes and destroying missile boats. Eventually, the player conducts bombing runs over enemy camps and bunkers, and the last mission involves assisting NATO ground forces, an airfield, and special forces troops in attacking the enemy forces.

The PlayStation version differs greatly from the PC versions, emphasizing action over simulation; in particular, take-offs and landings were cut, and the player begins each mission with enemies near at hand, rather than having to hunt them down. Players will be manning the F-14 fighter plane. Not only does this baby come with all the necessary tools and equipment needed for survival (radar, warning lights, altitude meters), it comes with a variety of missiles; there are standard air-to-air missiles, the air-to-ground AGMs, U238s made from depleted uranium, a disastrous Nuke, and the multiple target MIRV. It also comes with some defensive tools such as chaffs and flares that trick enemy radar. Don't worry, you're not going in the air alone! Merlin will act as your Radar Intercept Officer; loosely translated, he's the guy that sits behind you and watches out for enemy target locks. Additionally, the sweetly calm Raven and your arch rival Stinger will assist Maverick as his wingmen. When you get in a sticky situation, count on these guys to help you out!

Top Gun: Guts and Glory is a modern jet flight simulation that was released in 1993 for the original Nintendo Game Boy in Europe and North America. This video game is loosely based on the Top Gun film featuring Tom Cruise. Basically controlling a cutting edge U.S. Aviation based armed forces stream through ten levels, players must take out adversary jet fighters while withstanding enemy ships. Airplanes that can be picked include the F-14 Tomcat, the F-117A Nighthawk covertness contender, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the Soviet-made MiG-29 Fulcrum. Players can either commit themselves to a long career mode, take part in a snappy air battle meeting, or go on a bombarding run. Passwords help store the player's advancement in career mode. Because of different constraints found on the first Game Boy framework, the player can just observe and battle against two enemy airplanes at once.
